Recently, I've gone through a fashion revelation and decided to clean out my entire closet of the clothes I never wear. I found this denim jacket that i've had since middle school and it seemed to much of a waste to throw away. I've seen a lot of the ombre trend for the summer, especially, the denim. I love the trend (obviously, my hair is ombre) but would never shell out 60 bucks for something so trendy. Upon finding my denim jacket, I thought, why not make my own? and the best part? It didn't cost me a penny, literally! All the materials are household items. Don't have any denim you want to dipdye? Go hit up a local thrift store!
What you'll need:
Gloves, bleach of any kind, a bucket of some sort and of course, any type of denim/chambray item you wish to ombre.
Step 1. is to go to an open area and put on the gloves
Step 2. Pour a good amount of bleach into the bucket
Step 3. Insert your article of choice into the bleach up to desired amount
I decided to stop a little before the halfway mark. Although a lot of people don't do their sleeves, I thought it would be a cool effect, so, I dipped them as well.
Step 4. Leave in for a couple hours and check periodically
Step 5. Rinse in cold water to rinse and stop the bleach
Step 6. Throw it in the dryer and voila
